How we practice.

Longer appointments, thorough evaluations, and treatment decisions made with you. Here is our approach, step by step.

"He takes his time. I felt heard. I didn't feel rushed. I got more than just a medication."
What we want every patient to say when they leave.
  1. 01

    Unhurried appointments

Sometimes an extra ten minutes of conversation does more than a medication change: you leave with an actual strategy, not just a refill. Visits run longer here, with time to actually be heard.

  2. 02

    Mind and body, together

Your mood, your labs, and your physical health are one story. Psychiatry and functional medicine share one roof and one record, so nothing gets treated in isolation.

  3. 03

    Testing before medication changes

Before changing medications, we check the biology: bloodwork, and GeneSight genetic testing to see how your body processes medication. Personalized beats trial-and-error.

  4. 04

    Treatment decisions made with you

Medication when it’s needed, or alternatives when you’d rather explore them, from coping strategies to functional and lab-based options. Not wanting a pill doesn’t close the door here.

  5. 05

    Care without judgment

Dr. Oyaga describes the goal in his own words: a space where people feel heard, validated, and never judged or labeled. In English or Spanish, with clinical training and none of the white-coat distance.

What that means for your first visit

A full evaluation that goes back to where things started, not just this week's symptoms. An honest conversation about every option, including the ones that aren't medication. And a plan you actually understand before you walk out.
